Covid-19 update | What we’re doing to keep you safe

Although I'm not yet able to provide face to face massage, I wanted to give you a Covid-19 update on the recommendations I am preparing to implement in my Brighton and Hove locations once I get the go-ahead that it is safe. This advice comes from the Council of Soft Tissue Therapists as outlined via my governing body, the SMA - Sports Massage Association:

  • I will be using the NHS Contact Tracer app and encourage you to use it too.

  • There will be greater flexibility with Cancellation Policies with charges only being applicable within 4 hours of appointments

  • 30 minutes gaps will be left between appointments to ensure clients are not present at the same time and for sterilising products to be effective on all touched surfaces

  • There will be a removal of any unnecessary decoration in the clinic room

  • Clients with underlying health conditions (heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, suppressed immune systems etc.) or aged over 70 may be unable to come for treatment

  • A premises risk assessment will be performed regularly and documented

  • The clinic room will be kept well ventilated

  • Water will not be dispensed unless in an emergency; clients will need to bring their own drinks

  • You may be asked to take your temperature upon arrival

  • You may be required to wear a face mask

  •  I will take my own temperature before the start of each working day and won't carry out therapy if I feel at all unwell

  • Therapist PPE currently to include disposable gloves, plastic apron, fluid-resistant mask (IIR). (These are subject to change)

  • Clinical tools (IASTM tools) will be thoroughly sterilised or possibly not used at all

  • Facial massage is likely to be avoided

If you have any questions about any of the above, please email me on hannah@core-smt.com. You can also buy a discounted massage voucher to use once we re-open by clicking on gift vouchers here and book an online massage appointment here
